The state police in Butler were called to the Clearview Mall Friday afternoon.
Upon arrival of the police, they arrested 50-year-old Robert Klein of Johnstown, PA for stealing from two stores at the mall. He was caught stealing six boxes of legos from Boscov’s, three pairs of blue jeans and two drills from Sears. Total value of the items was $745.00.
Due to Kleins criminal history for prior retail thefts this incident is a felony 3. He was placed in the Butler County Jail to await preliminary arraignment.
Shoplifting is never acceptable, especially if it’s $745.00 like this man, but sometimes it is the only option for people who have no money. The economy has been hard of people in recent years and so some individuals are getting desperate and breaking the law in order to feed their family. If this has happened to you and you’ve been caught then you may need to get legal help from a place like these philadelphia criminal lawyers.
It is clear that Klein had no reason to steal these items other than his own greed as the items he stole weren’t essentials like food so he will be charged accordingly.
