A Cranberry man is facing numerous charges following a high speed chase through three counties last weekend.
According to a criminal complaint, 43-year-old Kirk Heath was driving on Route 28 in Allegheny County on Sunday just before 6 p.m. when a trooper tried to pull him over for a stuck brake light.
Heath is accused of failing to stop and driving recklessly at speeds over 120 miles per hour. The pursuit continued into Armstrong County where the vehicle parked and a woman ran out of the passenger side. Heath fled on foot and escaped capture for a time before being taken into custody in Ford City Borough.
A search of the vehicle resulted in multiple full and empty bags of heroin as well as a container of suspected crystal meth and a glass meth pipe. Heath has been charged with felony kidnapping and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer in addition to misdemeanor drug possession charges.
