The Pittsburgh Penguins’ lineup will look different following Monday’s 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.
Forward Jake Guentzel, who was injured after scoring his 20th goal of the season, had successful right shoulder surgery on Tuesday. He is expected to be out four to six months. Guentzel was recently selected to his first all-star game.
In other injury news, Sidney Crosby returned to practice earlier this week for the first time since his November surgery. It is unclear when he will return.
Forward Evgeni Malkin is facing a $5,000 fine following a high stick to Ottawa’s Jean-Gabriel Pageau in Monday’s game. Pageau was also fined $2,500 for roughing Malkin.
The Penguins will return to action on Thursday night, when they host the San Jose Sharks. You can catch all of the action, starting with pregame coverage at 6:30pm on WISR 680AM. Faceoff is set for 7pm.
