Those interested in enjoying National Meteor Watch Day are invited to a special event later this week at Moraine State Park.
Thursday’s Magic Meteors gathering will start at 8:30 p.m. and continue until 10:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Beach Area Pavilion 4 on the North Shore.
Visitors will learn more about what meteors actually are as well as other objects visible in the night sky. Participants should bring a chair or blanket.
Those interested in attending are also reminded to dress for the weather, and to bring binoculars if they have them.
