The longtime leader of Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect has died.
Reverend Randal Gullickson was the Executive Director of the camp for 31 years.
During that time, current Executive Director Deb Roberts said under Gullickson’s direction, Lutherlyn grew from a small summer camp to a valuable community asset.
“We serve 15,000 to 20,000 people a year, all with the goal of providing life changing adventures in faith for them. Rev. Gullickson made it a year-round sustainable ministry,” Roberts said.
Roberts succeeded Gullickson as executive director following his retirement in 2016. She said he played an influential role in her life and countless others.
“Randy was a role model and a mentor,” Roberts said. “He went out to make sure I knew what my gifts were and that I found a way to use them to better the world. And he did that for thousands of other staffers too.”
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home in Renfrew.
