Longtime local business Best Insurance Agency has been acquired by Warren-based Northwest Bank.
The agreement is effective April 1.
Best Insurance owners Don Best, Carol Best McClean, Mike Reese and Ray Rosenbauer will continue to operate out of their current office in the 300 block of south Main Street as representatives of Northwest.
Richard McClean, who has been with Best Insurance for several decades, will retire at the end of the merger.
“Nothing will change other than the masthead over the door,” Rosenbauer said.
He noted the company had been looking for an opportunity to keep the agency going forward as the partnership is growing older.
“It was time for us to look around,” he said.
The Best Insurance Agency is in its 100th year and has always been located in downtown Butler.
The price of the sale was not disclosed.
