The longtime football coach for Butler High School has died.
Art Bernardi passed away Saturday at a senior living center in Upper St. Clair.
Bernardi served in the Marine Corps prior to his career as a teacher at Butler Senior High School.
He was named head football coach in 1961 and served in that role until 1985. He would remain on as athletic director until 1989.
Bernardi was named to the Butler County Hall of Fame and is the namesake for the football field at the Senior High School.
A memorial service for Bernardi will be held TODAY at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church on the South Side.
Bernardi was 93.
