Former Butler City solicitor James Coulter received a special honor Thursday night for his contributions to the city.
Mayor Ben Smith presented Coulter with a plaque containing a key to the city.
Coulter stepped down from the post he held for 31 years in February but was back filling in at Thursday’s City Council meeting for colleague Tom Breth.
Coulter said it was an honor to serve the City of Butler and he is thankful for the recognition.
