As other cities build temporary hospitals to help with the influx of COVID-19 patients, the Butler County Commssioners say there have been conversations locally exploring that possibility.
County Commissioners Leslie Osche says they have been in touch with Butler Health System.
“We are looking at some vacant space available in the city area that’s close to the hospital that could be converted for that purpose,” Osche said. “We hope that it’s not needed, but I think planning is always important, and we certainly don’t want to be caught without if it’s needed.”
No specific location in the city was mentioned by the commissioners.
But, Jana Panther of the Butler Health System said, “BHS is working with Butler County and Butler Area School District officials to prepare nearby off-site care facilities, should they become necessary.”
