A local water authority will receive a significant amount of money from the state to replace equipment.
According to State Representatives Lee James and Brian Ellis, the Bear Creek Watershed Authority has been awarded a grant for $128,000.
The money will be used to replace corroded and broken piping support brackets at four treatment plants in the boroughs of Bruin, Karns City, Petrolia, and Fairview. Those plants were constructed more than 30 years ago.
This funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through the state’s PA Small Water Sewer grant program.
