A Butler County man who fell to his death while hiking in Switzerland last week was due in court today on child pornography charges.
Patrick Harper, 52, of Penn Township was hiking on the Matterhorn on Dec. 26 when he fell 500 feet. His body was discovered in steep, rocky terrain next to a ski slope.
Harper was charged by Pennsylvania State Police in November on 52 counts of possessing child pornography stemming from a 2014 investigation.
Harper was free on bond and scheduled for a preliminary hearing today before District Judge Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg.
