A Butler County High School student will head to Australia next month after being selected for the Sea Cadet Exchange Program.
Mars Area freshman Ian Sleigh is one of two cadets from the United States chosen for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps International Exchange Program. He will participate alongside cadets from Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Activities and training will take place in mid-April in and around Sydney, New South Wales and Canberra.
The exchange program provides specialized education and training for cadets who have an interest in learning about cultural differences and nautical traditions.
