A local project has been selected as the winner of a statewide road safety competition.
A 2015 project initiated by Cranberry Township to improve Unionville Road near Graham School Road will be awarded a Road and Bridge Safety Improvement Award. This will take place at the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors convention in Hershey on April 19.
This dangerous and busy stretch of road bent over 70 degrees leading to poor visibility and numerous crashes. The engineering firm HRG and Youngblood paving realigned 600 feet of roadway and improved markings.
No further crashes have been reported at that location since the work was completed.
