A local Army Reserve Unit is deploying for duty that will include guarding prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
100 members of the 307th Military Police Company out of New Kensington left earlier this week for training at Fort Bliss in El Paso.
Once their training is complete, the unit will be stationed at the detention center in Cuba for nine months.
Although the prison housed as many as 750 inmates following the September 11th attacks, currently there are about 100 prisoners.
