A local lawmaker is sponsoring a bill to reduce the cost of education in Pennsylvania.
Republican Representative from Mercer and Butler counties Tedd Nesbit is co-sponsor of House Bill 2388, which would require any school to use Department of Education-approved designs for constructing new facilities.
The bill would direct the department to establish a prototypical school design clearinghouse which any school in the state could access and use for designs. A study would be conducted after the system had been in use for five years to determine savings.
Another bill would require publishers of post-secondary textbooks to offer an identical digital copy available within two years of publication.
