Several municipalities and organizations around the Butler County area have been awarded state funding for recreation projects.
According to State Senator Scott Hutchinson, a total of $900,000 will be provided through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
Evans City Borough will receive $300,000 for rehabilitation of the Evans City Pool. The Audubon Society of Western PA has been granted $200,000 for development of Succop Nature Park. The Western PA Conservancy will use nearly $200,000 to purchase land along Miller Road. Cranberry Township will receive $125,000 to rehabilitate North Boundary Park. Connoquenessing Borough has been granted $40,000 for further development of Connoquenessing Park. Slippery Rock Borough has also been awarded $40,000 for further development of their community park.
The Community Conservation Partnership Program provides technical and financial assistance to local governments and other organizations through several funds and with federal money.
