Police officers are often unsung heroes of any city. They put in long hours, often working overtime in order to keep us safe. As it is their job, no one seems to celebrate them as much as they should because without them, the streets would be a much different place.
This line of work often forms strong bonds between the police force with every officer sharing a connection with the others in their unit because they’re willing to do anything to protect each other.
They show this connection to the force in numerous including buying custom challenge coins to show that they are loyal to each other. However, it’s rare that they are recognized by a third party of the work they put in. This has changed s whole departments are now being congratulated for their hard work keeping the streets and road safe.
Three area police departments are among the nearly 50 in Western Pennsylvania honored for their traffic safety efforts by AAA.
Our local state police department- Troop D in Butler Township- was awarded with a Platinum Award (the highest given), as well as the Cranberry Township Police Department and the Grove City Police.
AAA East Central Safety Advisor J.J. Miller said in a statement that each organization recognized has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make their community a safer place for motorists and residents.
