Sniffling, sneezing, watery eyes…are you dealing with these symptoms? You may have allergies, and yes, you can experience allergy symptoms in the summer.
Jonathan Valentino, from Institute Hill Pharmacy in Butler, says people can feel such symptoms anytime of the year. Mostly, allergies are felt during the spring and/or fall. Winter seems to be a time where individuals are less likely to feel symptoms.
Individuals can be affected by anything from pollen, grass, animal hair, to bee stings.
There are times, according to Valentino, that allergies can potentially turn into a sinus infection. He says most people try to deal with allergies on their own before they go to the doctor. By the time some individuals get to a medical professional, a sinus infection has set in.
It can be hard to avoid all allergies but there are ways to help prevent them from occurring as badly. For example, you may want to look at indoor air purification system installations as this can filter out a lot of the allergens in the air. Alternatively, if you are still feeling the effects of allergies, then you’ll want to look at ways to calm them down, such as taking antihistamines or using a cold compress. Finally, another thing that can be done to help with allergies, especially if it’s an allergy to pets, is to ensure that you clean up after your pets as much as you can and you’ll want to find the best pet carpet cleaner that you can for your home, so you know you’re giving it your all in getting rid of any allergens floating around.
He also says if you have questions about allergies or allergy medicines, ask your doctor or your pharmacist.
