Police are still searching for a man wanted on charges of operating a methamphetamine lab in his apartment in downtown Butler.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Brian Payment Jr who, according to a criminal complaint, was cooking meth at a residence in the 100 block of Standard Avenue.
An informant told police September 30th that Payment was observed disposing of hazardous waste from the lab in a dumpster behind a church on Center Avenue. A Bureau of Narcotics Investigations and Drug Control agent confirmed that evidence collected from Payment’s apartment matched materials found in a meth cooking operation.
Payment is facing felony charges including Operating a Meth Lab, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Causing or Risking a Catastrophe. Authorities thought that Payment planned on turning himself in Thursday but he is still at large.
