A local man has been charged in connection with an out of control fire earlier this week in Jefferson Township.
According to State Police, troopers were called out to a fire in the 100 block of Bonniebrook Road on Monday just before 11 p.m.
An investigation determined that 57-year-old Kenneth Allen of Butler started two brush fires on his property then fled into the woods when police arrived. Allen continued to hide in the woods as the fire got out of control. Saxonburg VFD responded and was able to contain the blaze.
Allen has been cited with Disorderly Conduct.
