A Butler man is in jail after allegedly trying to take a police officer’s gun last weekend.
According to a police criminal complaint, 36-year-old Matthew Fleeger was at the Marathon Gas Station in Butler shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday when he pulled at an officer’s weapon.
Fleeger failed to obey orders from the officer and the officer was forced to use a Taser on Fleeger. The Taser was not effective due to a thick coat and Fleeger was only brought under control once four other officers arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.
Fleeger is currently in Butler County Prison on charges including felony aggravated assault, felony attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
