A local lawmaker is demonstrating his ability to work “across the aisle” with recent sponsorship of a few bipartisan bills.
Last week, U.S. Congressman Mike Kelly announced a bill called Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act that would modernize and streamline the way Medicare Advantage plans use prior authorization.
Kelly also introduced a bipartisan and bicameral bill to reform Opportunity Zones which are tax incentives for individuals who reinvest unrealized capital gains into impactful projects in needy communities.
Finally, Kelly teamed up with fellow Republicans as well as Democrats to introduce the Employee Access to Worksite Health Services Act to protect employee access to health care at the workplace health center by modifying part of the tax code that currently discourages employers from offering worksite health clinics.
