A Butler County judge has been confirmed to a spot on the federal bench.
The U.S. Senate has approved Marilyn Horan as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Horan has been close to filling a vacancy on the federal court bench for a number of years. Last year, President Donald Trump nominated Horan to fill a vacant seat on the U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh. President Barack Obama nominated Horan for the same seat back in 2015.
Horan has served as a judge on the Butler County Court of Common Pleas since 1996 and before that she spent 17 years in private practice.
