The first few weeks of 2016 have proven to be a volatile time for the U.S. stock market, with most analysts saying it’s been the worst 10-day start of a calendar year ever and many fixating their eyes on the market Tuesday anxious to see what it does after the long holiday weekend. What are the ftse predictions for the UK stock market will they be any better?
So, should investors be concerned? Some investors might find themselves seeking solace from their investment broker when times get tough, while others may look up to different trading platforms that can provide them with beneficial solutions. Since there are many trading platforms online, it is hard to compare all of them. But many believe that the best trading platforms are not only modern but also intuitive. Furthermore, such trading platforms make it possible for even beginners to enter the world of trading with ease. Therefore, in times like these, probably a good Trading Plattform can help those in need.
We talked with Howie Pentony of Pentony Capital Management in Saxonburg to get his take.
“We’re still OK,” Pentony said. “We haven’t gone below the lows that we had in September and October of 2015 so we are OK. Nobody is happy about it though. The market going down 8 or 9 percent to start a year is not a good thing.”
What should you do with your money?
“Generally speaking, I would hope most people prepare their portfolios so that in the event that something like this happens, that they’re prepared for it,” Pentony said. “It shouldn’t be a shock. People taking their money out of stock markets means they probably shouldn’t be investors. Being an investor takes courage. But knowledge is also power so understanding more about the market always helps. consider checking out someone similar to Stocktrades (https://www.stocktrades.ca/best-canadian-dividend-stocks-2019/) for additional information.”
The takeaway? Pentony stressed that at this point we’re OK. Yes, people have lost money but the markets are back to the same levels we were last October, not worse…yet.
“Who knows what could happen,” he said. “But I do know that the market goes up and down, the market does not go straight up, and the world also does not end often.”
Howie Pentony has owned and operated Pentony Capital Management in Saxonburg for over 30 years.
