Tonight is the annual ‘Remembrances: Tinsels & Tears’ program,’ which is a time to help individuals deal with grief and loss through the holiday season.
Robin Miller, Grief Specialist with Thompson Miller Funeral Home, told our radio station, “A lot of people do not realize how tough and how difficult it really is.” She says this program is to understand that tears are OK during the holiday season as well as talking about our loved ones who have passed.
The annual program is free and open to the public. It will be held tonight, Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 200 East North Street in Butler, at 7pm.
At one point in the program, families and individual will be able to hang a butterfly shaped ornament on a tree in honor of their loved one while others will be hanging a paw print on the tree for their lost pets.
Robin Miller leads a variety of grief support groups held throughout the year at Thompson Miller Funeral Home.
