People dealing with the death of a loved one this holiday season are welcome to join in a service of memory next week. Christmas is always a difficult time for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, and with so many festivities, it’s important to take time to breathe. For those who have just lost somebody recently, you can look at these caskets here to make the funeral process a little less stressful. At this time of joy and love, we look to focus on the happiest memories and remember the best times.
“It’s to help us through the holidays. It’s to not only help us as an individual, but it’s to help us understand that tears are OK through the holiday time. It’s also to help us help others realize that it’s OK to talk about our loved one,” bereavement specialist Robin Miller said.
Miller, of Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, is referring to the “Remembrances, Tinsels and Tears” program scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6 at First United Methodist Church on East North Street beginning at 7 p.m.
This non-denominational service is free and open to anyone. The evening will include speakers, music and candle lighting, as well as a special ceremony with ornaments.
“We offer ornaments to anyone who would like one and they can have their loved one’s name personalized in the back and then we have a list of names that we read during the service to remember these people who have died,” Miller said.
Wednesday is the last day to have a loved one’s name included on an ornament. Call Thompson-Miller at 724-287-3706 for more information.
If you are looking for a funeral home that may be able to take care of your family during your time of need, you may want to look into somewhere similar to Riemann Family Funeral Homes or one that is more local to you.
