The Butler City Parks, Recreation Grounds & Facilities Authority has finalized the contract they are offering a local fighter looking to rent Kelly Automotive Park in September.
Brian Minto would like to hold a fight at the park on September 17 and during the course of negotiations, representatives requested that the park’s $1,000 rental fee be waived.
Authority members believe they may have found a compromise when they removed the contract requirement that fight organizers be responsible for any damage caused to the field during the event. In addition to the $1,000 rental fee, the contract proposal says Minto’s camp will be responsible for extra costs for field lights, suite rentals, a $1 tax per ticket sold and security provided by city police. The $1,000 rental fee for the park was reduced from $3,000 earlier this year.
The authority also gave permission to the Butler AM Rotary to do a 50/50 raffle at the event that will benefit the Butler County Autism Awareness Association.
