As part of Slippery Rock University’s efforts this month to recognize students burdened with disabilities, a demonstration of an all-terrain wheelchair will be held today.
The chair is built by Slippery Rock-based company TracFab. It offers an adjustable seat suspension, van accessibility, easy transferability and a “culmination of comforts.”
The company says the chair is for those with an active, on-the-go lifestyle, nothing it has served combat veterans, industrial workers and lovers of the outdoors for the past four years.
SRU has named November ‘Disability Issues Month,’ with an increased effort to raise awareness of obstacles many students face.
