Local Catholic churches will take up a special collection to benefit the Jewish congregations that worship at Tree of Life Synagogue.
Butler’s three city catholic parishes- St. Michael’s, St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s- will all hold collections this Saturday and Sunday.
Donations will help cover expenses faced by families after the Squirrel Hill shooting. The building itself also sustained damage that will require repair and renovation. The effort is part of a larger collection sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.
