Two local churches will be merging next month.
According to a news release from the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, Saint Matthias Parish in Evans City will merge into Saint Gregory Parish in Zelienople as of Friday, July 1st.
Both buildings will remain open for worship but will have a single unified staff, ministries, and administration. Father Michael Roche will continue to be pastor of the combined parishes.
Saint Matthias Parish was created from Saint Gregory Parish over 75 years ago.
