The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the San Diego Padres 5-4 last night to open a 10-game road trip. Pirate starter Francisco Liriano allowed four earned runs on six hits. He walked five in the game. The Bucs had 11 hits in the game, but left 10 men on base. Josh Harrison and Jordy Mercer had two hits each. Padres catcher Derek Norris hit a two run home run off Liriano that chased him from the game in the fifth inning. The Pirates record fell to 7-7 overall. They play again tonight at 10:10pm Pre-game on WISR is 9:45pm. Jeff Locke will start for the Pirates.
