Severe weather late Thursday caused some major problems in eastern Butler County and some of those problems are lingering Friday morning.
Nearly 600 West Penn Power customers are without service this morning, according to the company. The majority of those outages are in Oakland Township (400), Bruin Borough (70), Parker Township (26) and Petrolia Borough (23). Power is expected to be back on by 11 a.m. Friday.
During a storm last night, a portion of the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department’s utility building was reportedly blown off. The building sits on Route 268.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for east central Butler County until 10 p.m. The NWS said it was likely Chicora and East Brady would experience flooding.
