With colder weather upon us, a program to help needy Pennsylvanians pay their heating bills is once again up and running.
Starting Tuesday, the state Department of Human Services will begin applications for LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Spokesperson Rachel Kostelac from the PA Department of Human Services says the program provides grants to both renters and homeowners who fall within certain income guidelines.
Kostelac says it’s best to apply early, and to encourage others who are eligible to apply as well.
Applications are available at county assistance offices or online at compass.state.pa.us.
