There is still time to register for a series of lifeguard training classes beginning Friday in Cranberry Township.
Cranberry’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering the American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses in February and March at the Township Municipal Center and at Alcoa Kwaneer indoor pool.
Prospective lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and able to swim nonstop for 300 yards as well as tread water for two minutes using only their legs and complete a timed swimming event.
The cost of the class is $150 but those who pass the class and work a season at the Cranberry Waterpark can receive a partial refund. Call 724-779-4386 for more information.
