A pair from Lawrence County is out thousands of dollars following a scam involving a dog.
State police say the victim contacted a person earlier this month who claimed to be selling two dogs in Pennsylvania.
The pair completed the purchase that cost them an estimated $1,000.
However, soon after the sale the scammer told the victim they were not able to hand-deliver the pets. They instead referred the victim to the shipping company “Air Animal Pet Movers.”
Police through various fees and services, the victims lost another $3,000.
Anyone with information about a possible suspect is asked to call state police in New Castle.
