Pennsylvania may be spared from the worst of Hurricane Florence as it continues to barrel towards the East Coast.
The storm is heading for the Carolinas, and is projected to make landfall late Thursday or early Friday.
Meteorologist Michael Colbert of the National Weather Service in State College says the longer it stays to our south, while it’s bad news for the Carolinas and Virginia, cooler and drier conditions will remain here.
If Florence does remain stalled to our south, Colbert says much of Pennsylvania will remain cloudy through the week, but mainly free of any major rain makers.
Locally, officials are concerned about Florence’s impact on Pennsylvania because of all the rain much of the state has already received in recent weeks.
