Kyle Larson raced to his Nascar Cup Series-high sixth victory of the season to easily advance into the third round of NASCAR’s playoffs, winning on The Roval — the hybrid road course/oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was Larson’s second victory of the playoffs, but he was the first championship-eligible driver to win in the round of 12. The elimination race cut the field from 12 drivers to eight. Knocked out were Alex Bowman, Austin Cindric, Daniel Suarez and Chase Briscoe.
Joey Logano would have been eliminated, but Bowman’s Hendrick Motorsports car failed post-race inspection, and he lost all points gained Sunday.
The drivers head to Las Vegas this weekend to begin the playoff round of eight. Hear the race on WBUT beginning at 1:30pm.
