Kyle Larson got the best of rookie Chase Elliott on the day’s final restart Sunday at Michigan International Speedway, leading the last ten laps to record his first career Sprint Cup victory. Elliott spun his tires on the restart allowing Larson to take the lead over the final seven laps. Elliott settled for second place. Brad Keselowski finished third, but his car failed post-race inspection. Penalties will be announced this week.
Ryan Blaney finished fourth followed by Kevin Harvick.
The victory was the first in 99 races for Chip Ganassi Racing, and guarantees Larson a spot in the post-season Chase. The drivers will race at Darlington Sunday evening.
