High School Sports:
WPIAL Girls Team Tennis Tournament:
–Knoch defeated Beaver 4-1 to earn a spot in the 2A championship match. The Knights will meet Sewickley Academy who defeated Neshannock 5-0 in the other semifinal.
At the PIAA Western Region Golf Championships Tuesday at Tom’s Run Golf Course at Chestnut Ridge:
–Slippery Rock’s Jacob Wolak earned a spot in the state 2A championship tournament. He shot a 77, six strokes off the winning pace. Donnie Professori of Pine-Richland earned a spot in the 3A championship with an even-par 72, good for fifth overall.
Boys Soccer:
–Mars-2 Ambridge-1 in overtime.
–Seneca Valley-8 Bethel Park-0. Luke Rupert netted a hat trick for the Raiders.
Girls Soccer:
–Freeport-10 Armstrong-0. Sidney Shemanski scored another hat trick for the Yellow Jackets.
–Mars-3 Hampton-0.
Girls Volleyball:
–Butler-3 Fox Chapel-0.
–Knoch-3 Lincoln Park-0.

KDKA-television in Pittsburgh has announced all six of the WPIAL football championships will be televised on its sister station WPCW. Four of the championships will air from Heinz Field beginning at 11am November 16th. The final two will air from Norwin high school November 23rd.
