The 1978 WPIAL Class AA Championship Football Team – Tim Karrs, Head Coach
The 1978 Football team became the first Knoch High School team to earn a WPIAL Championship, finishing the season with an 11-1 mark. During the season the team allowed just 5 points per game and held five different opponents scoreless. The team also scored a then-school record 266 points during the season. In the WPIAL playoffs the Knights defeated Beth-Center and Leechburg to earn a trip to the championship game at Pitt Stadium against heavily favored Beaver Falls.
