There will not be a repeat WPIAL championship for the Knoch Knights. Knoch fell to Blackhawk 7-2 Tuesday in the Triple-A semi-finals. Blackhawk will face Chartiers Valley in the championship game next week after Char Valley eliminated Mars 6-1.
In the District 9 baseball playoffs: Port Allegheny ended AC Valley’s season 16-6.
In softball: Freeport fell to South Park 7-0 in the WPIAL Double-A quarterfinals.
Today in the District 9 Double-A semi-finals: Moniteau will host Redbank Valley at 1pm.
In the WPIAL boys volleyball Triple-A semi-finals. Penn-Trafford defeated Seneca Valley 3-1. Bethel Park shut-out North Allegheny 3-0. In Double-A: Beaver County Christian defeated Deer Lakes 3-1.
The Mars girls lacrosse team will play for the WPIAL Division-2 championship after defeating Bethel Park 9-7 in the semi-finals last night. Mars will face Blackhawk tomorrow in the title game at Highmark Stadium on Pittsburgh’s South Side. Blackhawk defeated Hampton 7-6 in overtime.
