The Knoch and Freeport girls’ volleyball teams will advance to the PIAA state semifinals following their wins on Saturday.
- In 2A action, Freeport defeated Beaver three sets to none. The undefeated Yellow Jackets will be playing in the state semifinals this week for the third consecutive year.
- In 3A action, Knoch defeated Franklin Regional three sets to none. The Knights will play Palmyra this week in the semifinals.
Several local high school football teams were in postseason action on Saturday:
- Ridgeway defeated Karns City 34-27
- Grove City defeated Hickory 34-13. Grove City will play Sharon in the District 10 championship on Saturday (11/16).
