A 24-year-old Kittanning man faces a long list of charges- including aggravated assault- after he’s accused of charging and spitting on a police officer.
Pennsylvania State Police officers were called to a home on Iron Bridge Road in Winfield Township about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The caller told 911 dispatchers that an intoxicated man was in the home and refusing to leave, despite being asked multiple times to do so.
Officers met the man inside the home and asked to give him a ride home. That’s when police say the 24-year-old became irate- kicking a coffee table and then charging toward a trooper. The man was handcuffed and led to a police car, which he allegedly starting kicking.
Police say he then spit at a trooper from the back of the car.
