Nascar has suspended Matt Kenseth, driver of the number-20 Joe Gibbs Racing Sprint Cup Toyota, for two races after he intentionally wrecked Joey Logano late in Sunday’s race at Martinsville. In addition, Kenseth has been placed on probation for six months, which will carry into the 2016 season. Kenseth was nine laps down to leader Logano less than fifty laps from the finish when he drove Logano’s car into the wall. The move was in retaliation from an incident involving the two drivers at Kansas earlier in October. Joe Gibbs Racing said they would appeal the suspension. Logano is currently last in points among the eight “Eliminator” Chase drivers due to the accident.
Kenseth was not the only driver reprimanded for antics at Martinsville. Danica Patrick was fined fifth thousand dollars and 25 championship points for intentional contact with driver David Gilliland.
