Several kids will face juvenile criminal trespassing charges following a break-in at Broad Street Elementary School.
Butler City police officers were dispatched to the facility on Monday afternoon to investigate a general burglary alarm.
Officers found and detained two juveniles near an open door. They heard voices inside the building so the searched it and found an additional juvenile hiding.
All three juveniles were taken back to the Butler City Police Station, where two were released to guardians and another was detained through juvenile probation.
Broad Street School has been vacant since December of 2017 when students from Summit attended school there while water issues were being corrected.
