Jordan Geist set a Pan American Junior Games record in winning a gold medal in the shotput Sunday in Peru. The Knoch high school graduate had a throw of 72-feet, 3-inches which broke the reocrd of 66-feet, 10-inches set in 2009. The recent Knoch graduate was a WPIAL and PIAA champion this year and was recently named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette co-Male High School Athlete of the Year. Geist will be heading to the University of Arizona this fall.
