The official start to the Nascar Cup Series season begins tonight with the qualifying races for this Sunday’s Daytona 500. Coverage of the Daytona Duel races begins at 6pm on WBUT.
Last night, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe won the first-ever Daytona 500 pole position for Toyota. He will start this weekend’s “Great American Race” on the front row alongside 2022 winner Austin Cindric. It is the first Daytona 500 pole position for Gibbs since Bobby Labonte claimed the top starting spot in 1998.
The 67th annual Daytona 500 airs on WBUT Sunday beginning at 1:30pm.
