June was another good month on the jobs front for Pennsylvania.
The state added 4,000 jobs last month, bringing the estimated number of jobs to more than six million. It’s the 15th consecutive month the state has set a new record high for jobs.
“We’ve just been doing the right things,” Department of Labor and Industry Secretary Jerry Oleksiak said. “The governor has taken the lead to create the environment to bring jobs here.”
At 4.3 percent, Pennsylvania’s jobless rate is at its lowest level in 11 years.
Officials believe there are a lot of jobs available here in Butler County as well. While discussing a forum held earlier this month to improve the relationship between employers and people in recovery from drugs or other issues, all three Butler County commissioners said they’ve been hearing from employers that there are more local jobs than people to fill them.
