Four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon announced Tuesday that he would carry the famed rainbow-themed multi-colored paint scheme on his Number-24 Chevrolet one more time … in next month’s IRWIN Tools Night Race in Bristol, Tennessee. Gordon is nearing the mid-point of his final year as a full-time NASCAR competitor. He’s a five-time race winner in “Thunder Valley,” with four of those victories coming with the iconic paint scheme on his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.
As Gordon continues to work his way through his farewell season, he’ll be honored Thursday, July 9th, with a parade in Pittsboro, Indiana – where his family relocated to from California when Gordon was 14 years old, to further his racing career. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is staging the parade on “Jeff Gordon Day” in Pittsboro.
