Tristan Jarry posted his third shutout in his last four games last night as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 in overtime at PPG Paints Arena. Bryan Rust scored the game-winner for the Pens. Jarry stopped 17 shots. He joins Marc-Andre Fleury as the only Penguins goaltenders to have three shutouts over a four-game stretch.
Evgeni Malkin missed last night’s game with an illness. The Pens called up Joseph Blandisi on an emergency basis from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the game.
The victory jumped the Penguins to third place in the Metropolitan Divison ahead of Philadelphia and Carolina. They host the Los Angeles Kings Saturday. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:30pm.
